I have just finished ZAHIR.

I was very impressed. I finished the book in one sitting (although a short story this is unusual for me). I’ve always wondered where good writing comes from.  I’ve always believed that to be a successful writer one needs not only to understand oneself but to have an understanding of the human condition. The story was well crafted and I was totally immersed in the plight of your characters. I was horrified and enthralled at the same time. I was hoping that at least someone survived but then quickly realised that there was only one possible ending.  Your mastery of language was a joy and generated a level of imagery which no film could match.

I look forward to reading Light from a Distant Star soon.

Hi Gregory,

I met you at the sales event at St. John Cathedral some weeks back. I wanted to write to thank you for your book, Light From a Distant Star. I read and enjoyed it. I was impressed by your ability to organize a complex tale, move action briskly, and fully realize a convincing alien world. I look forward to finding out more about that world. I think the greatest accomplishment in your work was to let me discover the place along with the characters. I never felt that I was a step ahead of them but shared their perplexities, fears, wonder, and confusion, which requires some real skill in composition and writing.

You are a very talented and imaginative storyteller. Nice work. I might add that as I read I constantly thought this is a guy who has a future in screenplays. For your information, there are prominent screenplay teachers with hugely successful students operating in ABQ. They are part of the SW Writers Group I told you about.
